Few of you know, that on April 21, The City Council voted to reverse the 60 year old 2 story height restriction throughout the entire city. Initially it was thought to affect only The Village area of the City; however, after scrutinizing the language, it will apply in every zoning district in Saratoga. The vote was taken with only 1 week's public notice and the item was buried in routine City items under the Consent Calendar.
There will be a MEETING ON MAY 27 of everyone interested in reversing this decision. We will meet at the Vineyards at 7:30; the meeting will begin promptly. If you don't think this won't affect you, consider having a 3 story home next to, behind or in front of you; this scenario is quite possible unless we re-store the 2 story height limit!
I realize this is short notice, but time is of the essence. Once submitted to the City and approved, we have only 2 weeks to collect 2,500 signatures! That means we need lots of signature gatherers as well as lots of signatures.
This is critically important to all of us who cherish Saratoga' low density, open space, semi-rural ambiance. Your help is vital! |
