MEF Hosts Restaurant Days Fundaraiser June 1-3 and 9th

Dear Saratoga Woods Neighbors across the creek,

As many of you know the state budget crisis has really hit schools hard this year. At Moreland we have been fortunate to have an administration that has been fiscally conservative and has been able to keep cuts out of the classromm, but now the cuts from the state are just too deep. The district is finally forced to make cuts that will affect the classrooms and are having to raise class sizes, make cuts in music and afterschool sports just to name a few areas. These are all areas that parents in the district feel are a high priority to save. The Moreland Educational Foundation responded to these priorities and launched the MEF Fund Drive 2010. So far we have raised $127,000, through 694 donations averaging $185 each and we are now asking our community to help.

Next week MEF is hosting the MEF Restaurant Days, June 1-3, and on June 9, 2010. Similar to the monthly restaurant night fundraiser many schools host, Chevy's, Boston Market, Fresh Choice, Pizza My Heart and others will donate a percentage of their profits to MEF’s donation drive, which helps keep class sizes small, save music and our after-school sports programs. Stay tuned for dates and a list of participating restaurants.
